The tyre placard contains useful information about correct tyre use

In 1973 it became standard practice for all cars to include a tyre placard that contains information about correct tyre use. The placard indicates recommended tyre sizes and correct inflation pressures for front and rear tyres under normal driving conditions when released from the factory in original condition.

This is very useful base information however there will be times when you may require more detailed knowledge than the tyre placard gives.

On your placard you may also see pressure information for heavy loads and sustained high-speed operation. This is only a guide and if you have any questions it’s a good idea to consult with a professional.

If you have any questions we can recommend the ideal pressures to use with new tyres, as different tyres have different pressure requirements.

The tyre placard is usually contained in the glove box, on the driver's door pillar or under the front bonnet.
